Synology NAS · Beta

Every NAS. One overview.

A multi-tenant console for Synology systems—across customers, locations or in-house. Spot warnings earlier, cut down on hopping between DSM logins and run selected maintenance from fliix Ops.

Status, storage and warnings in one place Selected remote actions with log feedback Less effort per NAS

See every NAS

Systems, locations and important conditions in one shared console—for customers or internal sites.

Respond earlier

Catch warnings, package updates and failed backup tasks before they become outages.

Act remotely

Run selected maintenance actions from the console when DSM packages and permissions allow it.

Stay clear on scope

Monitoring, optional actions and hard limits are stated openly—including the Beta status in the product.

Capabilities

Synology monitoring and remote admin for daily operations

fliix Ops combines device visibility with deliberately exposed remote actions. Optional features such as Docker, VMs and backups appear only when the matching DSM packages and APIs are available.

Overview

Device overview and reachability

Organize every Synology system, location and status in one central view.

  • Online and offline status, last contact and uptime.
  • Hostname, model, serial number, DSM version and package/agent version.
  • Groups, tags, search and status filters for larger device sets.
  • Indicators for warnings, updates, failed backups, VMs and containers.
  • Approval workflow for newly connecting devices.
Monitoring

DSM and system information

Bring utilization and system-health information from available DSM APIs together.

  • CPU and memory utilization and system temperature.
  • Firmware version, uptime, reboot requirement and system warnings.
  • Fan, power and selected hardware conditions.
  • Network and additional system information reported by DSM.
Read-only

Storage, volumes and drives

Review capacity, utilization and health information centrally.

  • Volume status, used and free capacity, and file-system type.
  • Encryption state and additional DSM volume properties.
  • Drive model, capacity, temperature and health status.
  • S.M.A.R.T.-related test type and progress when reported.
Packages

Package status and available updates

Track installed DSM packages and available updates across devices.

  • Installed packages with version, status and distributor.
  • Available package updates and affected devices.
  • Trigger individual package updates offered by DSM remotely.
  • Receive fliix Ops DSM package updates through the package upgrade flow.
Optional packages

Docker and Virtual Machine Manager

Manage containers and virtual machines where the relevant DSM packages are available.

  • Display containers, images, status, network and health details.
  • Start, stop or restart containers.
  • Display VM hosts and guests with resource information.

  • Return success, failure and important status messages to the console logs.
  • Optional Zabbix connection parameters on the device when monitoring is already in use.
Read-only

Network and active connections

Review network information and current DSM connections reported by the NAS.

  • Hostname and available interface and configuration information.
  • QuickConnect target when the NAS reports an identifier.
  • Active DSM connections or user sessions.
  • Central visibility without managing users or shared folders.
Scale

Warnings, logs and bulk actions

Identify notable conditions faster and combine recurring tasks across devices.

  • Identify temperature, system, network and other DSM warnings.
  • Review device messages and action feedback per NAS in the logs.
  • Edit groups, tags and assignments for multiple NAS systems.
  • Request connection, restart and shutdown as bulk actions.

Requirements

Ready in a few clear steps

The fliix Ops DSM package connects your NAS outbound to the central console. Optional feature availability depends on the DSM version, model, installed packages, local APIs and permissions. Synology management is marked Beta in the product UI.

DSM 7.2+ DSM 7.2 or newer
PHP 8.4 Required Synology package
Permissions Service account with administrator privileges
  • The fliix Ops DSM package must be installed and assigned an active Synology device license.
  • Monitoring and remote actions require a dedicated DSM service account with administrator privileges.
  • Docker, Virtual Machine Manager, Active Backup and Hyper Backup appear only when the packages and APIs are present.
  • Feature coverage and write access can vary by DSM version, model, package version and local permissions.

Clear feature scope

Reliable expectations instead of empty promises

You can see which information fliix Ops evaluates and which actions are actually exposed in the customer interface. Capabilities that exist only technically and are not customer-facing are not marketed as product features.

Storage, volume, drive and S.M.A.R.T. information is read-only; RAID or volume repair is not offered.
Hyper Backup is monitored; backup restoration and a customer-facing Hyper Backup start action are not included.
DSM users, shared folders, services and processes are not managed centrally.
DSM upgrade availability is displayed; installation of the DSM operating-system update is not offered.

FAQ

Synology NAS with fliix Ops

What does fliix Ops offer for Synology NAS?
A multi-tenant browser console to monitor Synology systems and run selected remote actions—status, storage, packages, optional Docker/VMs/backups, fan mode, restart/shutdown and bulk operations—where DSM packages and permissions allow it.
Who is the Synology integration designed for?
MSPs, IT service providers and internal IT teams that monitor multiple Synology systems across customers, locations or sites and want fewer separate DSM logins for routine checks and maintenance.
Is Synology management production-ready or Beta?
In the product UI Synology management is marked Beta. We document supported capabilities and explicit limits so you can decide what to rely on in production operations.
How current is the displayed information?
Reachability is updated through regular heartbeats. Detailed sources are typically synchronized at intervals ranging from two to thirty minutes. The product therefore does not promise a continuous live view of every detail value.
Which DSM version is supported?
Requirements are DSM 7.2 or newer and the Synology PHP 8.4 package. The model, optional DSM packages and available APIs are checked for each deployment.
Can fliix Ops repair RAID issues or restore backups?
No. Storage, drive and S.M.A.R.T. information is used for monitoring. RAID or volume repair and backup restoration are not part of the customer-facing feature set.
Which remote actions are available?
Available actions include restart, shutdown, fan mode, individual package updates, Docker container actions, VM power actions and manual starts for eligible Active Backup tasks. Optional actions appear only when the relevant DSM packages and APIs are present.
How is Synology NAS licensed?
Synology NAS is a paid product licensed per managed device. With at least one active paid device license on the account, included platform tools such as SSL Monitoring, Dynamic DNS and One-Time Secrets become available as well.
